Why it's important to look in the past and reflect, but keep your sights set on the future.

Revisiting old images
An opportunity to reflect on my photography journey so far and why it's important to be self-aware.
Lovely 2021 bride Tori reached out to me a few weeks ago, asking if I had any additional photos from her wedding to share.
That may seem like an odd request, but per my agreement with the company I photographed her wedding with, I delivered all of my images to the company to be edited and delivered to clients. In this instance, I happened to also still have all of the unedited files for myself.
So, when Tori reached out, I got to work editing old images. When I look back at the way I took photos and where my creative vision lied in 2021, it is so interesting to see how far I've come and imagine how I would take the shot differently today if given the opportunity.
Reflection
In photography, it is so important to always be learning and growing. My worst photo of 2023 is still far better than any image I could have dreamed to create when I first started this journey at age 14.
When you're editing images every week, it's hard to see just how far you've come until you take a moment to look in the archives.
That all to say, I do love how these images turned out. And although I wish there are some things I would have done differently on the day, I think my current editing knowledge really helped to bring these photos to life.
Here's to Tori + Adam, and a happy belated two year anniversary!
